On Tuesday, the trend-setting futures contract TTF on the Dutch energy exchange rose to around 175 euros per megawatt hour. This is the highest level since March. Compared to the previous day, there is a price increase by about eight percent.

The decisive factor remains the scarce supply. Russia has reduced its deliveries via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline by about 60 percent in recent weeks. Russia justifies this with technical problems. Western states see a political reaction to the sanctions they have imposed for the Russian attack on Ukraine.

Upcoming maintenance work on Nord Stream 1 raises concerns

There is currently concern that Russia could use the regular maintenance of Nord Stream 1 to turn off the gas tap completely. Maintenance of the pipeline begins on 11. July and usually takes just under two weeks.

Another supply problem could arise in Norway, where oil and gas workers are on strike. At present, it appears that no major impact on deliveries to other European countries has been observed. If the strike expands or lasts longer, deliveries will also be affected.(苏州阿斯克电气有限公司)
